I’ve been listening to the hype about this game for two weeks now, getting CBS updates, etc. I just have to shake my head to remind myself it’s US they are talking about. Not Ohio State, Not Notre Dame, but US! For long time fans, did you ever REALLY think it would happen? I mean in my wildest dreams I could see some decent bowls, but not this. I wish my uncle was alive to see it. He was a long time ticket holder and besides me, the only IU fan in a Boiler family. So I’m going to enjoy all the hoopla tomorrow and just hope we play our best and come out injury free. Chips fall where they may…
Ditto. Nothing lasts forever. But I never thought I’d see this. Kinda worries me. I still have a bad feeling about tomorrow’s game.
I thought the year Randle El became the starter we were going to be lights out. And then we were anything but.... last time I had this much hope or satisfaction with IU football.
@bayernfan Well it wouldn’t be an IU game if you didn’t have a bad feeling, but I do too. We haven’t shown yet we can win in that type of environment. Let’s hope it starts tomorrow
Not winning on the road against a top five team doesn’t mean IU is fraudulent. This program was 3-9 two seasons ago. Even in the transfer portal and NIL era it takes time to build a legit national contender if it happens at all given the amount of resources the big boys have. Look at Purdue. You think they are competing for a title this year or next under Odom?
As long as Cignetti stays and has adequate support IU should be relevant. Maybe not top ten, but still relevant.
Perfectly stated. My EVV roommates (2) are gone. Never got to see Cig in action, 56-7 Nebraska, and 63-10 Illinois. Always dreamed of it. Gald, I lived to see it. Go Hoosiers 31-24.

Seems reasonable to have a bad feeling about playing on the road at the #3 team.
Im OK with it, and also I feel good about Cig having the prep time he's had. If they are good enough, they will be ready. If they aren't good enough, its not the end of the world, they'll just need to win the big games going forward.
Either way, its great to be in this position, and I agree, its amazingly hard to believe. Let's hope the hype stays for at least one more week.

Funny because I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday. Can't believe IU football is ranked top ten and actually made the playoffs last year. 5 years ago I would NEVER have believed it. I am concerned about the game tomorrow, don't think IU will win but as long as it's respectable then I will be good with it.
Bison Up!

Same with my dad. Gone since 2019, but he woulda LOVED this.
Who cares what the media says, I believe that we will win. The chip on the shoulders for our guys has to be huge. We returned the core of last years team and all off season they talked about how we were a one hit wonder, who is the "next Indiana", IU has no chance etc.
Dreamt about the game last night which is a first for me. Of course, it was a tie game late in the 4th quarter when I woke up….:)
Halfway through the season, IU has been the "game of the week" in 2 games. 1/3 of the games played. Thats the only part that still doesnt seem real.
Indiana is the only Big Ten team to have beaten Oregon at Autzen. 2-0 now. (2004 and 2025)
