TJ/Sammy... I think one of the bigger keys for our team right now, is how healthy a handful of key guys may, or may not, for B10 championship/CFP.

I know Cig probably will touch on this during the bye week, and maybe there's already a thread going that is touching on this?  If so, point me in the right direction.  If not, maybe that'd be a good one to have pinned or something?

Sarratt, Evans, Benson, EJ, Black, Franke, etc...

Good questions. I’ve come to the conclusion that Evans is critical to our offense. Never realized a left guard played such a huge role.

IU has no availability this week other than the radio show on Thursday night. So we probably won't get an answer on injury specifics this week, but he did say this after the game Saturday:

“It will be great to enter an off-week now and get the players some rest [and] the coaches too, really, the assistant coaches. I may even adjust what I normally do. We don't do much on off weeks, just stay sharp. But we need some rest.”

The TV broadcast said that Sarratt would be back after the bye week.

An educated guess here, is that Benson and Zen will be Available on the OL for Purdue and if Evans is not 100% they'd give him until the postseason (BTCFBG)

Assuming that Franke had a groin injury, I would doubt he plays on a slick grass field.

Black looked like he had a stinger, kind of the same thing Kamara is dealing with. So I expect them back, but could be pulled early.

I am not totally sure on EJ. If it is a high ankle sprain or something like that, he may be out a couple weeks, but I am not sure.

Hope that helps

I think Ajani is looking good. Been a lot of holes for the running backs and decent protection on that left side. The right side of the line, not so much.

But, anecdotal, not like I look specifically or if I did would understand line play. But I don't think the offense is down much due to Evans being out, but due to decline due to injury at other spots.

We need him back badly of course, but too bad we can't spell the other guys that need to heal up too.

What’s happened this year is only going to benefit Ajani next year. He’s going to be a good one.

Yeah, I was surprised when the refs sent Benson off for a play for injury and he came back in after one more.  That kid is playing on a bad wheel and it shows.  And I believe Zen is dinged up too.  I kind of wish they would have given Evan Lawrence some snaps.  He's looked good in mop up time so far.  I'd have rather given him a chance to get out there and see how it worked out for a series or two.  They could have put Benson or Zen back in at that point if it wasn't working out.

Looking at Kellan Wyatt's career, is this one where you push the NCAA super hard to get the medical redshirt given he played in 5 games instead of 4, especially given the likely total games for IU this season is 16?

The out for season designation Cig put on him was super vague at the time given the conference season ends at the end of Nov and the real season runs till Jan 23.

Most doctors are quacks and can put an 8-10 week time table on just about any injury imo.

Sort of surprised I haven't seen a 'friend of a friend' type of comment out of Bloomington expounding on what the situation with him is.

Bump.

Who is likely to be out for the CFP?

I'd pin this thread. It's pretty important and an ongoing issue for the rest of the season.

In the presser today, Cig said Sarratt and Kamara would start vs. PU.

Said they would know more on Evans after today.

That was it.

I hope if Evans isn’t 100% they continue to rest him. We should be able to survive this game without him. Especially with a bye week of rest for the team and Sarratt back. I’d rather he play in the BTC or CFP game(s). I’d hate to see him play and go out with another long term injury.

It seems unlikely Evans plays the PU game.

If we make the BTCG that’s a huge game but honestly we really want him back for what matters most by far in the playoff.

I don't have high hopes for Evans, long term. Major injury before, now an unannounced but apparently very significant injury?

So yes, rest him. Get what snaps we can post season.

Hopefully I'm wrong and he'll have some improved luck, so he can be a full season beast next year.
