There not one scintilla of evidence that Indiana hacked. Hoosiers FB keep your eye on the prize.
Haters will be haters. I saw some similar garbage on YouTube and the poster responded that IU did not throw the bad pass that Ponds jumped, nor did they fumble two balls leading to IU touchdowns. I feel sorry for the reporter that would push this issue with Cig in a press conference, that response would be required watching in all college journalism schools as to not what to do.
Garbage piece. Ignore Hoosiers, ignore!!
Ha "Indiana had to be cheating. Look no further than the blocked punt, it was clear IU knew Oregon was about to punt it."
They're already making up excuses for why they lost...
Glad to see them in that frame of mind...
Always interested in a good conspiracy theory so I thought I'd take a closer look at this one...
Seems pretty easily debunked in less than 20 minutes of not terribly intensive ESPN film study...
Exhibit 1 (for the Conspiracy Theory -
Pond "clearly" knows the play and "easily" picks off the Oregon QB for a walk-in TD...
What actually happened: Pond takes a 7 yard drop, backpedals 2 yards at the snap (keeping a 4 yard cushion), sees the WR run a 5 yard quick out in
front of him with the QB staring down the receiver, breaks hard to the ball and barely gets to the ball just as it reached the receivers hands... Had Ponds
Not caught the ball he had already lost leverage on the receiver and there's a great chance the receiver would have turned the catch up the sideline for an Oregon TD...
Exhibit 1 (for Debunking the Conspiracy Theory)
Ponds had No Safety Help. The Safety was lined up in the shallow and in the middle of the field and never would have gotten over in time had Ponds wiffed on his Interception bid... If we were Certain we Knew the play (and that's the supposedly the "Real" reason why Ponds jumped the route) then wouldn't we have been smart enough to have at least shaded the S slightly to that side and somewhat deeper to not allow a TD if things didn't work out? The answer is an unequivocal Yes...
Next series of plays Oregon takes the ball down the field on a long drive ending in a TD pass during which we were having trouble lining up properly at lest once and caught misaligned at least once... That's not what you'd expect to see from a Team that Knew the other team's scripted plays...
Exhibit 2 (to Debunk this Nonsense)
The real reason it looked like we knew their plays was great film study and more importantly we were simply a Lot quicker then Oregon up front on D...
When Kamara broke across the G's face to stop their RB for a loss he was simply much quicker off the snap. That G had barely gotten out of his stance while Kamara was blowing past him (and their C and LG had already engaged their guys)...
That was pretty much the story the rest of the night when it came to our DL vs their OL: our guys were quicker and smarter... That's probably what really triggered the "they've got to be cheating" crowd... It's ashame some people can't grasp great football effort when they see it...
Did we have their practice tape where they ran the one where their RB knocks the ball out of the QB's hand...??? That must have been an exciting one to be waiting for...😉🙄
After we recovered that fumble on their 3 the we just did what we do... Had we been sharper (and had their game plan) we would have beaten them by 70...
I hope our guys really tighten things up and Leave No Doubt down in Miami... This kind of Lie is simply ultra-disrespectful... (and extremely unwarranted).
We're in their heads and they're losing their minds. Love it.
I can’t wait when the clowns on the Miami sidelines(Irvin etc..) get them a penalty for something stupid. I’m so glade IU has no sideshow like that. All business.
This is absolutely reckless. There is zero proof beyond an NFL DB jumped a route and that some how little IU is now taking names and kicking a$$.
The latest conspiracy involves Indiana Mia transfer, Brock Schott giving IU Miami's plays, as if our coaches can't watch tape for that.
Lots of people when they get a case of the red ass LIE. Particularly sports fans.
