Halftime offensive thoughts: 

- Hoover came out of the gate jittery (perhaps too worked up) 

- Turbo has been IU's best back by a lot, and that dirty hit took him out; major blow to the running game

- Hoover on IU's 4th drive was surgical. The PI throw to Shazz, then 5 straight receptions, resulting in an 8-yard touchdown for Nick Marsh

- IU is getting yards, but needs to convert on opportunities more (4th down on the goal line, and the field goal drive) 

Half Time Thoughts:

An absolutely weird game. The crowd has been awesome, and affecting the NW offense.

Hoover has settled in nicely. 

Big concern is the Turbo Richard injury

Halftime Thoughts

Indiana’s defense has controlled the first half from the opening safety. Northwestern has just 51 total yards and negative 5 rushing yards, the Wildcats have not been able to establish anything on the ground. Indiana’s front has consistently won at the line, forcing Northwestern into long down and distance situations and keeping Aidan Chiles uncomfortable.

Chiles has had to escape pressure or roll outside on most of his dropbacks. Daniel Ndukwe, Tyrique Tucker and the rest of the front have all made their presence felt, and Byron Baldwin helped force the intentional grounding call that put Northwestern at 3rd and 28 late in the half.

The Hoosiers have not gotten the turnover yet, but they have been close. Jaylen Bell nearly came down with an interception on Northwestern’s final drive of the half, and IU’s secondary has been physical when the Wildcats have completed passes. The main adjustment is not letting Northwestern keep finding those 10-15 yard gains off play action when Chiles rolls outside.
