Off the topic, but I am heading to Bloomington with some buddies this weekend for a round at the Pfau. I am preparing to have my d*** kicked in, but any helpful advice from someone who has played it is much appreciated! A night on the town afterwards will rock regardless!

A good attitude and picking a reasonable set of tees to play from for your skill level and you’ll have a great time.
As a member there I agree on using a reasonable set of tees. It is a long course with lots of trouble. Too many people think they want to see the course and use the back tees. I have seen many of them quit their round early because they have run out of golf balls.
A few tips:
The false front on the right side of the fifth green is trouble. Stay away.
Take more club on 6.
The fairway on 12 doglegs left and you can easily run out of room if you hit straight off the tee.
The bunkers in front of 18 look intimidating but the green which you cannot see is really quite large.
Have fun. The greens are spectacular and the game should be fun.
@walt542 great information that is much appreciated. We are going with the blue/white combo. No sense trying to be heroes. It should just be a magnificent day!
@hoosier-nati one more thing I thought about. Don’t try to drive the green on 14. It looks inviting but short is dead and long is dead and it takes a magician to stop the ball on that green from that far back. Hit the fairway and have a 9 iron or wedge in. I try to cut the corner a little bit over the first bunker but usually cannot get over the second bunker which is stretched out a bit farther. The fairway is wider the more you cut off but then you get a partial wedge in which is not a good shot for me.
I hope you enjoy your round. Let us know what you think after.
@walt542 We all four loved it. Such a fun layout that requires some target golf. Your tips helped a lot. Greens were REALLY fast but they warned us that there was a college tournament all week. All in all, just a fantastic course for the price.
@hoosier-nati We really needed the upgrade from the old IU course. Now a lot of people are making a trip to Bloomington to play Pfau and then hang out in town.
@hoosier-nati so happy you enjoyed it. Tough course but playing it often has made me a much better golfer. I’m not playing this weekend but will be back out there on Monday.

Many a golfer who has played Pfau has been heard to utter “Pfuk” afterwards.
For a complete hack like myself, I prefer those wide open courses where other fairways are still in play. Slice it or hook it? No problem. You still have an approach shot!
It's awesome - glad you liked it. Always play it when I visit for games.
