@thehoosierhuddle has any early enrollees started practicing with the team? I’ve seen a lot of Alabama videos on twitter about their early enrollees practicing and was curious about ours.

I know NCAA rules permit them to practice with the team once they're enrolled. They're even allowed to dress for bowl games. Clearly they can't play and I don't know what coaches have or would permit them dressing, but its oddly legal.
@yothn I had this discussion with Matt Weaver at practice today and we both agreed that it's probably a distraction to have a dozen or more new players just jump in.
@thehoosierhuddle - If you could have them in the background, getting to see the whole experience firsthand. That would certainly help with future experiences. But how you navigate that while mitigating any distractions would be tough.
@yothn If IU is still practicing when they arrive, I assume they will either be observers to practice or just get into winter conditioning.

@olympian97 Yeah, I can't see it being anything but a distraction. They'd have to be coached to do anything and that would be taking time away from the folks on the roster who can play. I just don't see any positive to it at all, other than "looks cool", which is probably enough for Bama faithful.
yeah, I am not disagreeing at all. I was just curious because I don’t think we’ve ever been in this position where we were still playing this close to 2nd semester. I’ve heard of this happening with other teams in the playoffs before, but since this is something new for Indiana I was just curious if this was going on for us. I don’t know the process of how they coach the team with so many extra coaches now. So, I can’t say whether it would be a distraction or helpful, but from an outsiders view it makes sense that would be assumed. I know if it would be any kind of distraction Cig would have none of it. It's a good question and one that I asked myself as well. We did not see any early enrollees at practice yesterday, so I doubt they are on campus yet. I believe the semester starts Jan. 5th(?), so if IU wins, maybe they join the team, but I don't think they would actively participate in practice (even if it is just the scout team), maybe they join in film, work in the weight room and watch practice.
