Can UCLA Pull Off Road Upset As "Archvillains" Of INDIANA Hoosiers?

ESPN has INDIANA as the 17th team in the country. ESPN staff listed "archvillains" for each of the top 25 teams & for the Hoosiers, ESPN had UCLA as their archvillains for the 2025 season.

Coach Cignetti & the Hoosiers did a great job retaining players & coaches from the 2024 team that won a school record 11 games & reached the CFP. But two got away, Coach Tino Sunseri & Jamier Johnson, CB starter.

Sunseri & Johnson have their work cut out for them. INDIANA had the 2nd best scoring defense in the Big Ten, giving up just 15.6 points/game.

There are some interesting storylines and connections with UCLA this year for sure, it will be an interesting game.

Though "archvillain" is a funny descriptor -- there is no rivalry or bad blood with IU and UCLA.  In fact, I think almost everyone understood why Tino took a play calling job and people were happy for him.

read my lips.....it's Illinois this year.  For sure.  No one else.  If we beat Illinois, we can beat Iowa, loose at Oregon and at Penn State, and beat the teams we are favored to beat, we are a repeat participant in the college football playoffs my friends. Lofty thoughts, I know.  But totally attainable by Coach.

BEAT PURDUE

@irregulars I think we could be in with that record, but we would have to play Oregon and PSU competitively in those hypothetical losses.  We’ve got a bit of an unfair stigma as being not too competitive vs top teams (we get way too much crap for losing @OSU and @ND).

I really, honestly see no reason not to defeat Ill., Iowa, Oregon & PSU. This INDIANA team is loaded.

I’m bullish on what Deshaun Foster has going on at UCLA. We got them at the right time of the year last year and they improved throughout the season when they had every reason to pack it in.

definitely not overlooking them this fall.
