Great article.  Thanks for sharing.  The more I read about this staff and how they recruit, the more I see how IU under Cig is the real deal, I do not know how to put it into words.  Then again I have had 3 quality bourbons and signed on here.  I for one would have NEVER had the last two seasons on my bucket list.  So blessed like many old timers here to have experienced the last 2 years.  Having graduated from IU in 1969, and having experienced all of the years in between, WTF, 27-2?

@d-b-cooper

“Sixth-year senior safety Louis Moore, an All-American, took Baldwin under his wing over the last year. Moore acted as a mentor, showing Baldwin how a starting-caliber Big Ten player should conduct himself on the field and out of public view.

"Lou talked to me about that a lot," Baldwin said. "He pretty much tells me, 'This is going to be your room pretty soon.' And I just pick up a lot of things from everybody, even the time that you're supposed to come into the facility before it's time to meet. You can't just get there 10 minutes before the meeting, you got to get there about an hour early.

"It's just certain things that I've watched that I'm going to instill in the next room so that we can be successful, so that we can keep the standard the standard”

This is the culture Cig talks about. “why Indiana” is now the easiest question to answer. First two years of Cignatty and we already have the largest score margin ever over a 2 year period. 27-2, undisputed, undefeated champs. Boatload of players headed to the league.

This is what Alabama fans must have felt like at the start of the Saban dynasty

@d-b-cooper Love the article. Thanks for sharing. Maybe it was player speak but impressed how he talks about seeing the vision in 2024 that IU could be successful. Although it probably took the Nebraska blowout to cement that vision (I have to take partial credit since I was among the large crowd cheering wildly that game 😆).

Amazing to think about how much more impactful our Fall campus visits are now vs a few years ago since we have fuller stadium, and a stocked trophy case to show off.

Seemed like a really long way around to say because they stayed after me. I mean in the middle of all that, he took a break from us to check out options.

Very glad he decided his relationships and good impressions were right. But we put a lot of work in to get him. Be cool if he has a strong year.

Cig has given credit a few times this year to Ola Adams. Awesome. Great staff.

Yes, that is most impressive the high quality in the individuals in Cig’s system. I guess high quality individuals means a winning culture. Who would have thought?

I recall Lou Moore here under Allen and thought he had potential but just wasn’t that good.  He comes back under Cig and the dude just took it to a whole other level.  I’m not sure that he got the majority of snaps at Ole Miss either.  That guy was phenomenal under Cig.

@big-red-cb-v-2-0 Lou Moore was a beast Allen’s last year. Hated to see him leave. So glad he came back and got a full season!
