I hate this. Sooner or later HS QBs will quit signing with Cig if he doesn't eventually start them.
Cig knows much more than I do about football, and his success cannot be questioned. But human nature looks at patterns; his is pretty clear for QBs. You think other schools don't notice and recruit accordingly?
Of the 24 teams in the CFP over the past two years, which ones had homegrown QBs as their starters?

So half of the QBs the past two years have been transfers. Not the end of the world if we don't bring a QB up through the system.
With the money to be made if Alberto wins the GT starting job, he cant afford to play here. He has to make bank during his college career. Strike while the iron is hot. Sorby left for supposedly 250k, and some laughed Cincy was overpaying. But then quickly got well over a million, then over four million.
Unless we were offering Alberto 500k+ per year to be the backup? Then it could make sense to stay. If he strikes out at GT oh well, but he has to find out. Cig doesnt think he is high end enough for us. And for Indiana, Ill trust Cig.
Ill enjoy watching GT though. I think Alberto will play well for them.
If Alberto has eyes on the NFL draft he needs to play as a starter. Nobody is drafting a college backup guy. College NIL is peanuts.
If it was about playing in the NFL he could stay here. Dont need to be a 3 year starter to get drafted. 2 is plenty.
Im assuming not NFL but good college QB that once he shows is a good starter can make a couple million. Supposedly is in the million range already. Need to go get it. Not going to get paid as much here.
I hope he wins their job. Their fans seem to say its between Alberto and a touted 4* frosh coming in.

@walt542 I’ll put it this way. He has more snaps than any other qb listed on their roster from what I found.
