Carter Smith's return is key for Indiana's rerun. Go Hoosiers. I couldn't be happier.
Sorry if this has been reported Jamari Monette is in the portal

Who is Jackson Wasserstrom? And why would you enter if you are that far down the depth chart?
Evidently Hosea Wheeler has entered the portal. This one surprises me.
Any indication on why he left?
I think he wants to play more.
Towards the back half of the season, he wasn't seeing the field like he was during the first part. Pair that with us bringing back both Landino and Tucker, who will start, along with the Tulsa guy, who I think plays a lot... there's his reason.
Per the NCAA, schools have 48 hours or 2 business days to enter a player name into the portal. As the portal for IU ended on the weekend, portal entry could be delayed as the 48 hour period refers to business days. Officially the fanbase may not know all the IU players that went into the portal until the morning of next Wednesday, January 28.
As regards Omar Cooper Jr. "no news is good news".

Good info, thanks.
I guess the question is how soon does the news usually break when a player hits the portal. When a player wants to enter the portal, they have to tell IU compliance, so I think the cat gets out of the bag pretty quick in the athletic dept and around IU, which usually starts leaks online. And the player's agent will usually be talking to other programs, which creates more chances for leaked info coming from those other programs.
I don't know the details on how it works, all I am saying is I'd expect some leaks pretty soon after it happens.
@tammany Yes, if a player, coach or someone with the access wants to share information, we could know answers at any time.
Rich Eisen show and Josh Pate claimed what I think we already knew. The portal dates having enforceability are a mirage. The NCAA set dates and hopes everybody abides by them to make life easier. But if a player chooses to transfer, say this summer, as long as the school admits them, they will be able to play.
I was pretty sure that was known from court rulings. And those guys may be wrong, but thats what they think. Doubt many players or schools will try to rock that boat though. Besides, most would already have NIL agreements, which would throw a monkey wrench into somebody trying it.
@tammany I have to imagine that any of the lingering players would not want to depart in the darkness of night at the 11th hour. I think anyone in the fanbase would understand if they made the decision to transfer last week, but I think we’d be rightly upset with the Mensah type optics. I can’t imagine Becker or one of our beloved players wanting to tarnish what was surely a once (maybe twice 😁) in a lifetime ride!

Yea. Demond Williams' Big Ten template rev share agreement being enforceable was a good sign. While the portal and other things probably aren't really enforceable, at least it appears the contracts the B1G is using are.

Walking away from the IU situation would be pretty wild. But, I guess you never know if someone is unhappy for some other reason. Fingers crossed!
@tammany fair! I just keep salivating at the prospect of Cooper coming back. Our WR group would be tops in the country. This snow is almost cruel for wandering mind. Not nearly enough to distract myself.
