Cig stays pretty positive on his guys with the media and seems to handle the underperformance internally. I like that vs coaches who call out guys to the media.
ODU press conference with Ricky Rahne
Coach mentions the Kennesaw State QB spent time here. (Dexter Williams.)
I hope our fans remember, and give him a nice welcome.
@openwheel I think they will. As much as you can in a football game. I remember feeling ill after that injury.
I agree with their coach, that was roughing the punter. Rolling on the ground into the plant leg. Although he takes the high road mainly. Jokes about the stadium not showing a replay.
@openwheel It should have either been called a blocked punt or roughing. It was not running into. From the replay it sure as heck looked like Isaiah Jones blocked it.

While I agree with most of what you said, he does call his players out to a certain degree. He does it enough so we know who he’s talking about but typically doesn’t name them.
I think it’s an effective way to do it without embarrassing the player.
How cool is it that were the team other opponents get excited about playing because its "against the best" ?
I dont think we score as many points as I've seen some other fans predict, but I also think we have pretty good odds at a shutout. They have a terrible kicker, and Wake Forest was able to smother them for most of the game. Having watched how they played against WF, I think it ends up being 35-0 or 42-0 type of game.
Right. They called the one thing it couldn't be. It was either tipped, or roughing.I hate when officials 'split the difference' as a make up call, when they don't know.@openwheel It should have either been called a blocked punt or roughing. Cig also mentioned a big call they missed and he felt reason was because we about had it sewn up. That happens... Former Michigan Tech and Michigan hockey coach Mel Pearson used to publicly mention those calls in his pressers or weekly show. He hated officials 'calling to the score', because it was usually his team with the two or three goal lead but couldn't put the other team away when egregious fouls by the opponent weren't called anymore. Or stuff allowed all game then called on his team. He was usually right, it absolutely happens. Glad Cig mentioned it.
Great read, well done.
BEAT PURDUE
@hoosierdaddy I'm not seeing a shutout. As good as last year's defense was, they only had 1 shutout. And that was basically an exhibition game against a 3A high school team.
I'm getting 34-6 type vibes.
