Things were rarely pretty and they were never easy but the Indiana Hoosiers relied on a strong defensive performance and did just enough on offense to survive the Purdue Boilermakers and win the Old Oaken Bucket for a fourth straight season. IU's Jonathan Crawford intercepted a David Blough pass in the end zone to keep the Hoosiers ahead by four points with just over a minute remaining to seal a trip back to a bowl game and a 6-6 finish for the Hoosiers.

How to Watch: The game will be broadcast on ESPNU. You can also listen to the game on the IU Radio Network with the legendary Don Fischer on the call.

What’s at Stake: The Indiana Hoosiers are attempting to reach bowl eligibility for the second straight season, the last time that occurred was 1990-1991. Keys to a Bucket Game Victory For Indiana

Rivalry Week is the best week in college football. Fans can throw out the records and just get into their team’s game with their rival school. The Hoosiers have one of the better rivalries in the Big Ten with Purdue in the Old Oaken Bucket Game, a tradition that dates back to 1925. This year the Hoosiers are looking to continue their run of dominance over the Boilermakers with a fourth straight Bucket win, a win that would send IU back to a bowl game for the second consecutive season. Here is what the Hoosiers will have to do to beat the Boilermakers.

The Bucket and Bowl Bid on the Line For Hoosiers

The Bucket and Bowl Bid on the Line For Hoosiers

For the second straight season, the Indiana Hoosiers enter the Old Oaken Bucket game with a record of 5-6, needing a victory over the Purdue Boilermakers (3-8) to earn consecutive bowl berths for the first time since 1990-1991. It is Senior Day and the Hoosiers are attempting to win the Old Oaken Bucket for the fourth straight season, a streak that has only been achieved by Indiana on one other occasion (early 1940s). On the other sideline, Purdue will not be going to a bowl game and they will have a new head coach when the 2017 season kicks off. On paper, only one team has anything to play for but IU knows the Boilers will show up determined to take the Bucket back to West Lafayette and spoil their rival’s season.

Game Day Primer: Indiana Hoosiers at No. 3 Michigan Wolverines

Game Day Primer: Indiana Hoosiers at No. 3 Michigan Wolverines

Written By T.J. Inman

What: Indiana Hoosiers at Michigan Wolverines

When: Saturday, November 19 at 3:30

Where: Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan

How to Watch: The game will be broadcast on ESPN. You can also listen to the game on the IU Radio Network with the legendary Don Fischer on the call.

What’s at Stake: First and foremost, the Indiana Hoosiers are trying to win their sixth game of the season and become bowl eligible for the second straight season. They’ll have one more chance after this (next week against Purdue) but the Hoosiers would love to accomplish that goal now and prevent the Old Oaken Bucket game from becoming a “do or die” affair. In addition, IU is trying to halt decades-long droughts. They haven’t beaten Michigan since 1987 and they have not won in Ann Arbor since 1967. The #3 Michigan Wolverines need a victory to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive heading into their clash with the Ohio State Buckeyes next Saturday.

Matchup to Watch: Indiana at Michigan

Last week’s loss was disappointing for the Hoosiers who now have to travel Ann Arbor to play the third-ranked Wolverines in a stadium that IU has not won in since 1967. Our key matchup in this week’s game is the passing game of Indiana against an excellent secondary from Michigan.
