Two days after beating the Butler Bulldogs to begin the 2026 exhibition season, Darian DeVries and the Hoosiers got another in-state win as Micah Mohler committed to Indiana. The 6’5” prospect from Austin, Indiana, is considered one of the best younger players in the state and he has only had one goal in his mind as he works on improving his game: playing for Indiana University.

“It’s been my dream school ever since I was little,” Mohler told Peegs.com during the summer. “I used to go to their games when I was little. Being there, seeing all the facilities, it just made me want to go there even more.”

Mohler attended a team camp with his Austin High School squad at IU and also made an unofficial visit to IU this past summer. Darian DeVries offered the scholarship on that visit and it has only been a matter of time before the commitment was announced.

Micah Mohler is now a sophomore at Austin High School and he is a member of the 2029 graduating class. He starred for Austin and led the school to a 17-9 record with a sectional title as a freshman and he has now grown to 6’5” and more than 200 pounds. It’s impossible to know exactly how Mohler’s game will develop over the next two to three seasons (there is a chance he reclassifies to the 2028 class and competes with Landon Lampley for top in-state prospect) but he currently projects as a physical wing in the Big Ten.
