Indiana’s Week in Review
The Indiana Hoosiers Men’s Soccer Program continues their incredible run during the 2026 season. Still undefeated, the Hoosiers rank #2 in the nation and are also the highest ranked Big Ten team (#1 in the nation is undefeated Stanford). This past week, Indiana faced their toughest test so far this season when the defending National Champion (and 16th ranked) Washington Huskies came to town. The Hoosiers beat the Huskies by a score of 1-0 behind goalkeeper Michael Mroz’s incredibly strong performance with 8 saves on the night. The Hoosiers passed this test against the defending champions with flying colors. The road is not getting any easier, however, as they now enter into a double dip of strong Big Ten teams, starting today (Tuesday, 9/22) against #7 Wisconsin in Madison. Then, IU returns home on Friday (9/25) to face a Penn State side who is off to a poor start, but always plays hard and has the talent to steal games.
Indiana vs. Wisconsin and Indiana vs. Penn State Predictions
Indiana vs. Wisconsin: The Badgers are a very strong team, and are ranked 7th in the country as of this writing. They lost their most recent game against #8 Maryland this past Friday 1-0, so they will likely drop a bit in the rankings, but they are certainly a force to be reckoned with – especially at home. They drew against #3 Ohio State earlier this season as well and are undefeated at home to start the year. This will not be an easy game for the Hoosiers. I am predicting a 1-1 draw in a hard-nosed, tough exchange between two top Big Ten teams.
Indiana vs. Penn State: Penn State is off to a slower start to the 2026 campaign with a record of 2-4-0. They’ve had a few tough losses early on and concede more goals than they’d probably like to, but there is talent on this team and they can certainly upset the Hoosiers. Among shared opponents, there is just one. Penn State lost to Washington on the road by a score of 4-2 about two weeks ago. Indiana should win this one and continue their recent dominance of the Nittany Lions, as they are riding a 6-game win streak over the past several years. The Hoosiers should make it seven on Friday. I am predicting a 2-0 win over Penn State.
Upcoming Indiana Schedule
After these two Big Ten matchups, the Hoosiers continue this difficult stretch of games by facing off against another highly ranked opponent in the Maryland Terrapins on Friday, October 2nd at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington.
