The Indiana Hoosiers added a second member to their 2027 recruiting class as German international Felix Kiehlneker chose IU over offers from USC, Florida and UCLA.
Indiana assistant coach Drew Adams has taken several international trips and he scouted Kiehlneker in July before the 7’1” center took official visits to both USC and Indiana. He is expected to play for a team in Germany’s “ProA” league this coming season before moving to Bloomington and joining the Indiana program.
During the 2025-2026 campaign with a team called Ulm BBU, Kiehlneker averaged 8.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game during 23.5 minutes per contest. He is considered a good athlete with length that needs some time to develop but he does have the potential to turn into a valuable contributor within a couple of years.
With Chase Branham already in the fold, this gives IU two commitments in the 2027 class. The Hoosiers are pursuing five-star big man Darius Wabbington as hard as possible and are considered to be locked in a battle with Arizona to land him.
