Opening weekend marks a new opportunity for the Hoosiers, and it serves as a major recruiting showcase. Indiana will play host to a multitude of prospects this weekend, hoping to sway many commitment decisions.Indiana's staff brings in large numbers of players for games to see prospects in person and get measurements. This week is a line-heavy weekend Here is the list of prospects Hoosier Huddle confirmed will be on campus the weekend of September 4. IU Class of '27 Visits (Commits) Branden Sharpe, Wide Receiver, Brownsburg High School, Brownsburg, IN Athleticism arrives in the form of wide receiver Branden Sharpe, who made his commitment to IU on May 18, 2026. The three-sport athlete finds excellence on the track, the basketball court, and the football field at Brownsburg High School. In his junior season, Sharpe tallied 59 receptions for 1,143 yards, averaging 19.4 yards per catch, and 13 touchdowns. The 5-foot-9 junior also brought Brownsburg High School football two consecutive Indiana State Championships. Jeremiah Jones, Offensive Lineman, Michigan City High School, Michigan City, IN Jones is a three-star prospect according to 247 Sports and made his commitment to IU on Jan. 31, 2026. Jones is a top-20 player in the state of Indiana and signed with the Hoosiers on his Junior Day visit. Jones attends Michigan City High School, received four offers, and chose IU over Miami (OH), Toledo, and Western Michigan. Mason McDermott, Offensive Line, Noblesville HS, Noblesville, IN The 6-foot-7 offensive tackle committed to become a Hoosier on May 17, 2026, just two days after his official visit to Bloomington. McDermott is rated a four-star prospect by 247 Sports, coming in 5th in Indiana and 305th nationally. McDermott chose Indiana over an impressive 18 offers, including Northwestern, Missouri, and UCLA. Caleb Pugh, Interior Offensive Line, Grand Rapids Christian, Grand Rapids, MI Caleb Pugh committed to Indiana on June 21 and chose Indiana over 15 other offers, including Yale, Navy, and Army. Pugh is an all-around athlete who competed in lacrosse, track and field, and wrestling throughout high school. He brings athleticism to the Hoosiers as a three-star prospect and the 19th-rated player in Michigan. Reinaldo Perez, Defensive Lineman, Columbus Academy, Columbus, OH Perez chose Indiana on June 3, over 33 other offers, including Ohio State and Tennessee. The Columbus, Ohio, native is ranked as the No. 16 player in the state and ranked No. 36 nationally among defensive linemen. Perez is a huge grab for the Hoosiers and should be able to make an immediate impact come fall of 2027. Jameson Purcell, Quarterback, Maine South, Park Ridge, IL Class of 2027 (Uncommitted) Jordan Darren Djila Tchuisseu, Safety, Baylor School, Chattanooga, TN Djila is an unrated safety from Chattanooga, TN, where he competes for Baylor. He has yet to make a commitment; however, he has received offers from Ole Miss and Ohio State. This weekend will be an important one for the young safety, as he hopes to catch the attention of Indiana coaches. Class of 2028 Visits (Uncommitted) AJ Henley, Tight End, Harper Woods High School, Harper Woods, MI Henley has received 20 offers, including offers from Indiana, Pitt, Washington, Louisville, and Michigan. The three-star prospect, according to 247Sports, is ranked No. 18 in the state of Michigan and No. 38 amongst tight ends in the nation. Lucas Lambert, Tight End, Logan Senior, Logan, WV Lambert is a zero-star prospect according to 247Sports. He has received four offers from Navy, Concord, Marshall, and Glenville.
