Indiana’s Week in Review

The 14th ranked Indiana Hoosiers Men’s Soccer Program continues to look strong during their 2026 campaign. After beginning the season undefeated at 3-0-0, they traveled to Louisville for their first away game of the season against a tough Cardinals squad who was equally undefeated (3-0-0) at the time. The two teams fought hard in a very evenly contested match that ultimately ended in a 1-1 draw. To read more about the details of the match, check out Campbell Manahan’s wonderful recap here.

Now, the Hoosiers return home to face Cal Poly on Friday (9/4) at 8:00 PM ET on B1G+ and Denver on Monday (9/7) at 8:00 PM ET on B1G+.

Cal Poly is off to a 1-0-3 start to the 2026 campaign, which places them right in the middle of the PAC-12 (yes, the PAC-12) standings with seven teams competing in soccer within the conference. Their first game of the season, funny enough, was against Denver and they drew 2-2. Since then, they drew against UC Davis, beat San Jose State, and drew against San Diego State.

Denver has started the season with a tough stretch of non-conference matchups. As mentioned above, they drew against Cal Poly to start the season, but then went to Stanford, UCLA, and Cal Baptist and lost all three games. This puts them at a record of 0-3-1 and lands them near the bottom of the West Coast Conference standings early on in the season.

My Prediction

I believe Cal Poly is better than Denver, but both programs fall significantly short of this year’s Indiana squad. I believe Indiana can truly challenge for a national championship this season and should get by Cal Poly and Denver with ease.

Against Cal Poly, I am predicting a 3-0 win. Indiana may use some of their reserves to offer them valuable minutes while giving rest to their starters. This match would be an immense surprise if Indiana drops points.

Against Denver, I am predicting a 4-0 win. Similarly, this match should not induce any stress whatsoever. Indiana has some of the most talented players in the country and should control this game from start to finish.

Upcoming Indiana Schedule

After hosting Cal Poly and Denver, the Hoosiers travel to Ann Arbor to open up Big Ten play against the Michigan Wolverines on Friday, September 11th at 7:00 PM ET. The game will be broadcasted on B1G+. Be on the lookout for another preview piece from me ahead of that matchup as well.
