The days are melting away, not just because of the extreme heat, but because Indiana Football is getting closer. The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff is at four days and today we take a look at an incoming cornerback, AJ Harris.
AJ Harris
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 190 pounds
Hometown: Phenix City, Alabama/Central/Penn State
Class: 4th Year
Position: Cornerback

AJ Harris comes in from Penn State after four years with the Nittany Lions. He has a ton of experience with 34 games played and 27 starts. Last season at Penn State he played 11 games and earned honorable mention All-Big Ten.
Harris is competing for the starting corner spot opposite Jamari Sharpe with Ryland Gandy. Harris has been banged up during camp, but is back healthy.
“Yeah, D’Angelo Ponds going out early, so we needed another experienced player there. I’m high on Gandy, who will be full go next week. Jamari Sharpe has really done a great job. He’s our number one guy. And A.J. Harris has the abilities. Looking for the day-in, day-out consistency, play-in, play-out consistency.” Cignetti said of why they brought Harris in during the portal season.
The countdown continues each day on Hoosier Huddle until IU kicks off the 2026 season against the North Texas Mean Green!
