Countdown to 2026 Indiana Football- 17 Days Daniel Ndukwe

Indiana DL Ndukwe

The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff is in its final weeks! As Curt Cignetti and his staff prepare for their third season in Bloomington with championship aspirations once again at the forefront, Hoosier Huddle continues one of our favorite offseason traditions: the Countdown to Kickoff.

Over the 100 days leading up to Indiana’s season opener, we’ll spotlight every player on the 2026 roster. Today, we turn our attention to a returning member of last year’s national championship team, Daniel Ndukwe.

Daniel Ndukwe arrived in Bloomington in 2024 after initially committing to James Madison before following Curt Cignetti to Indiana. That decision has already paid dividends for both sides. Ndukwe quickly earned the coaching staff’s trust, appearing in 27 of Indiana’s first 28 games during his career and becoming one of only five members of the 2024 freshman class to avoid a redshirt season.

While his early contributions came primarily on special teams, he steadily climbed the depth chart and eventually earned the first start of his career in the Peach Bowl against Oregon. He wasted no time making his presence felt, recording two sacks and blocking a punt in that game.

As he enters the upcoming season, Ndukwe finds himself at an intriguing point in his development. He continues to grow as a player, but competition along Indiana’s defensive line has intensified, particularly with the returns of Kellan Wyatt and Stephen Daley. That crowded room may impact how many snaps Ndukwe sees defensively, but his track record suggests he will capitalize on every opportunity he receives. Time and again, he has turned chances into production, and there is little reason to expect anything different this season.

The countdown continues each day on Hoosier Huddle until the Hoosiers kick off the 2026 season against the North Texas Mean Green!
