Countdown to 2026 Indiana Football- 21 Days Jacob Savage

Indiana linebacker Jacob Savage

Welcome to Day 21 of Hoosier Huddle’s annual Countdown to Kickoff! Today we highlight Freshman linebacker Jacob Savage.

“21, can you do something for me?” Drake raps about 21 Savage on the song “Rich Flex.” In 2026, the Indiana Hoosiers have their own 21 Savage: #21 freshman linebacker Jacob Savage. Now the question becomes, “What can 21 do for the Hoosiers in 2026?”

A consensus 3-star prospect and the number 5-ranked prospect in Kentucky, Savage comes to the Hoosiers by way of Ryle High School in Union, Kentucky. At Ryle, Savage helped lead the Raiders to back-to-back KHSAA Final Four appearances, including a KHSAA Class 6A runner up finish his junior year.

Savage was a force on both sides of the ball for the Ryle Raiders, finishing his career with a program-record 511 tackles (39 TFLs) and 3,584 all-purpose yards and 65 touchdowns.

As a senior, Savage’s 29 touchdowns (24 rushing) ranked second in the state, while his 112 tackles (15 TFLs) ranked top-5 in the state.

As a freshman at Indiana, Savage has the opportunity to learn from veteran linebackers Isaiah Jones and Rolijah Hardy as he gets familiar with the college game and Indiana’s scheme. Even if Savage doesn’t see the field much this season, one thing is for sure; the “21 Savage” NIL jerseys are going to do numbers at frat tailgates in Bloomington.

The countdown continues each day on Hoosier Huddle until the Hoosiers kick off the 2026 season against the North Texas Mean Green!
