Countdown to 2026 Indiana Football 43 Days – Bryce Taylor

We slowly inch closer to Indiana kicking off against North Texas in the Hoosiers’ season opener on September 5th. As we run our countdown each day at Hoosier Huddle, we now line up at day 43, where we highlight Bryce Taylor.

Height: 5’10”

Weight: 189 lbs

Hometown: Bloomington, Indiana

High School: Bloomington South

Class: Redshirt Freshman

Position: Kicker

The hometown Bloomington native, Bryce Taylor, won a national championship in year one of his tenure as a Hoosier. Now that is how you start your collegiate career. Taylor redshirted his freshman year as fellow kicker Nico Radicic showed the nation that he is among the best kickers in the country. Taylor, however, could very well be his replacement once Radicic is off to the NFL.

Taylor’s pedigree and accolades are extremely strong. He was rated as a five-star recruit out of high school by Kohl’s Kicking and was ranked as a top-5 kicking prospect in the country by On3. He won three titles at Bloomington South and received several accolades and recognitions for his strong performances year after year. And, he did all of this in Indiana University’s literal back yard. Without a doubt, this combination attracted the eyes of Head Coach Curt Cignetti, Special Teams Coordinator Grant Cain, and the IU staff as a whole.

As Nico Radicic is the clear starter for 2026, Taylor may continue to serve in a back up capacity for now, but I don’t foresee that being his long term future. Taylor has the talent to succeed at an elite program, and the passion and love to do so at Indiana University as a local lifelong Hoosier. I predict he will be a fan favorite once his opportunity arises.
