He provides a lot of playing experience for this younger Hoosier team, with 13 starts at Pittsburgh in 2024 and then 16 game appearances for Indiana.
Gandy also brings championship DNA from his grade school days with three state titles. After this, he was touted as a four-star athlete by ESPN.
Cignetti saw his value, and he was a key depth piece to the dominant Hoosier defense last season. This season, he will likely step up into more of a leadership role in the secondary. Communication is key to victory for the defense.
