Add Hoosier Huddle to GoogleThe redshirt freshman from Indiana wasn’t recruited by the Hoosiers but pursued his dream of playing for the cream and crimson. He joined the team last off-season, and this season he will attempt to see the field.
Johnson is currently a bit undersized for an offensive lineman, but it seems that he has room to grow. Offensive line injuries, while unwarranted, are very common in the football world. Having depth in this field is very important, and that’s why Indiana might call Johnson’s number this year.
Johnson has put the work in so far, as he entered college at 265 pounds and is now listed as 307. Johnson was offered by schools such as Kentucky and Maryland, but chose the tough road. If Johnson sees playing time this season, he could quickly become a fan favorite. Everybody loves the underdog story, and Johnson exemplifies that very role.
