This led them to grab both Kansas State edge rushers, hoping to build a lethal pass rush this season. With the season 69 days away, meet Chiddi Obiazor, an edge rusher from Kansas State who seeks massive improvement this season.

Add Hoosier Huddle to GoogleChiddi Obiazor presents Indina’s defensive line with a unique combination of size and speed. Obiazor has stacked up two productive seasons for Kansas State, where he is an elite run-defending edge rusher. He will likely play rotational reps for Indiana’s defensive line.
Obiazor had 28 total tackles last season, including a career high of six tackles against Utah. He also snagged two sacks last year, so look for him to improve in the pass-rushing category.
Obiazor comes in with Kansas State teammate Tobi Osunsami. Look for their chemistry to be a unique weapon for Indina’s defense going forward.
He told the Voice of Indiana Don Fischer that he chose Indiana because “the coaches and the people here are obviously awesome. And then I wanted to go to a spot that helped develop me and give me the best shot playing at the next level.”
A factor that shouldn’t be overlooked is that Obiazor will now be entering a winning culture that has an emphasis on defense. Kansas State’s defense wasn’t a competent unit, and its season didn’t go the way it had hoped. Walking into a winning culture will likely benefit Obiazor. Defensive coordinator Bryant Haines will very likely fall in love with an athlete of Obiazor’s status, and that is exciting to see.
