Countdown to 2026 Indiana Football- 72 Days Adedmamola Ajani

The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff rolls on! As Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti and his staff gear up for chapter three in Bloomington with another championship as the end goal, we at Hoosier Huddle continue with one of our favorite offseason content traditions. Over the 100 days leading up to opening kickoff, we will highlight each player on the roster. Today, we’ll touch on a returning offensive lineman, Adedamola Ajani.

Height: 6’4”

Weight: 308 pounds

Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana

Class/Position: Redshirt Sophomore/Offensive Line

Adedamola Ajani enters his third season with the Hoosiers after really coming on late last season. Ajani has now appeared in 15 games over his two seasons, notching four starts, three at left guard and one at right tackle. What started out as seeing time to fill in for injuries on the road at Penn State turned into a significant role during the Hoosiers’ playoff run, especially in the Rose Bowl win.

Curt Cignetti and Bob Bostad had a bit of a rotation going at right tackle with Ajani, Khalil Benson, and Zen Michalski toward the end of the season, and there are arguments to be made that Ajani looked the best. Doing this all on the biggest stage as just a redshirt freshman at the time, he shows real promise to be a linchpin of the line in the future.

With Benson and Michalski having exhausted eligibility and Carter Smith returning at left tackle, it should be Ajani’s job at starting right tackle this fall. Something to watch will be how he performs under a full season’s work, as he has only filled in at times thus far in his career. Nonetheless, I feel strong about his ability to man the right edge and protect Josh Hoover.
