The Indiana Hoosiers have added three-star linebacker Cain Brackney to their recruiting class of 2027, flipping his commitment from UCLA.
Brackney is rated a three-star by 247Sports composite rankings and Indiana beat out Michigan for his commitment. He visited the Hoosiers on June 12th and is coming off a visit to Michigan on June 19th.
Out of Bixby, Oklahoma, Brackney brings Big Ten-ready size and the production in high school that gives defensive coordinator Bryant Haines a great block of clay to mold. After transferring to Bixby from Colorado after his sophomore season, Brackney made 102 tackles with 12 tackles for loss in 12 games.
His tape shows a linebacker with a nose for the ball and the ability to defeat blocks easily to get into the backfield. He is quick for his size and would be a great fit at the middle backer position in IU’s defense.
The Hoosiers class now sits at 16 commitments and, as of publishing rated 45th nationally by 247Sports and 33rd by Rivals.
