Add Hoosier Huddle to GoogleMatt Marek enters his second season with the Hoosiers’ offensive line room after a strong start in his true freshman campaign. Marek was one of just twelve true freshmen to make their collegiate debut last year, making his initial debut against UCLA in October and totaling three games of experience. Marek played most of the fourth quarter against Maryland, helping the offensive line establish an eight-play, 93-yard scoring drive primarily on the ground. He also played the entire fourth quarter against Purdue, as the offense gained 102 yards of total offense and one touchdown.
Marek will see experienced names in front of him on the depth chart for the interior of the offensive line, but could be one of the first names called if there are injuries or performance concerns. As he continues to develop early in his collegiate career, he is certainly a name to watch for the offensive lines of the future.
The countdown continues each day on Hoosier Huddle until the Hoosiers kick off the 2026 season against the North Texas Mean Green!
