We are nearing two weeks into the Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff! As Curt Cignetti and his staff gear up for chapter three in Bloomington with another championship as the end goal, we at Hoosier Huddle continue on with one of our favorite offseason traditions. Over the 100 days leading up to opening kickoff, we will highlight each player on the roster. Today, we’ll touch on a returning wide receiver, Jackson Wasserstrom.

Add Hoosier Huddle to GoogleJackson Wasserstrom enters his fifth and final season with the Hoosiers this year after initially joining the team back in 2022 as a walk-on for Tom Allen’s squad. Wasserstrom saw his first collegiate game playing time in 2023, registering snaps on special teams against Indiana State. He appeared in seven games last season, catching two total passes from Alberto Mendoza in the games against Kennesaw State and UCLA. He has earned Academic All-Big Ten honors the last three years.
Wasserstrom tested the transfer portal after the Big Ten Championship game to see if there was a path to additional playing time out there, but ultimately withdrew and decided to return to the Hoosiers for his final year. He will once again see a crowded wide receiver room ahead of him on the depth chart this season but should see more playing time on special teams and in mop-up duty on offense throughout the year. He had a strong spring camp, making a highlight one-handed grab and showing off his speed in a clip shared by the Indiana Football social media team back at the end of March.

The countdown continues each day on Hoosier Huddle until the Hoosiers kick off the 2026 season against the North Texas Mean Green!
