We slowly inch closer to Indiana kicking off against North Texas in the Hoosiers’ season opener on September 5th. As we run our countdown each day at Hoosier Huddle, we now line up at day 93, where we highlight #93 Quinn Warren and #93 Ronelle Johnson.
2026 Countdown To Kickoff: Day 93 – Quinn Warren
Height: 6’6”
Weight: 214 lbs
Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana
High School: Brebeuf Jesuit
Class: Junior
Position: Kicker
Quinn Warren, the hometown Indiana native, played an important role in Indiana’s championship winning season. Serving as a kickoff specialist and fill-in punter at times, Warren was in charge of ensuring Indiana’s field position on defense was the best it could possibly be. He succeeded in his role and was an integral piece to Indiana’s defensive success in 2025/2026 along with the eventual championship that was won.
Warren was lightly recruited out of high school, receiving offers from Indiana, Ball State, UConn, and Brown. However, he became one of five true freshman in his Indiana class to not redshirt, indicating how valuable the coaching staff sees Warren.
Warren will continue to play an important role for the Hoosiers in 2026 as an experienced special teams player who knows the system and, maybe most importantly, knows what it means to be a Hoosier and a winner.
2026 Countdown To Kickoff: Day 93 – Ronelle Johnson
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 266 lbs
Hometown: Blue Springs, Missouri
High School: Blue Springs
Class: Freshman
Position: Defensive Line
True Freshman Ronelle Johnson arrives in Bloomington as part of Coach Cignetti’s 2026 recruiting class. Per 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Johnson is rated as a 3-star recruit and is ranked 503rd in his class overall. He chose Indiana amidst some very strong offers from other highly rated schools, such as Kansas State, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Miami, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, Wisconsin, and…Purdue.
Now that is a strong list, minus Purdue maybe. In year’s past of course, Indiana would have no chance in winning a recruiting battle like this, but times have changed. The Hoosiers beat out these other programs and earned a commitment from Johnson in July of 2025.
Johnson brings a large and athletic frame that is built to disrupt opposing offensive lines and quarterbacks. He projects to be a legitimate playmaker who can help this Hoosier defense maintain the top level success we’ve seen over the past two seasons under Bryant Haines and Curt Cignetti.
