The Indiana Hoosiers added a major piece to their 2027 high school recruiting class with the commitment of four-star defensive lineman Reinaldo Perez out of Columbus Academy in Columbus, Ohio. The Hoosiers beat out Ohio State, Michigan State and others. Perez took an official visit to IU back in April and has also recently visited Michigan State and Stanford.
Perez is a 6’6″, 260-pound defensive lineman who projects as a defensive end. Perez’s long reach gives him the ability to defeat blocks fairly easily and he has enough speed and agility to chase down ball carriers. He also played tackle along the offensive line.

Perez told Rivals.com that he chose Indiana because “it felt so right, and they checked off all the boxes for my family and I.”
Perez is Indiana’s 10th commitment in the class of 2027, which sits at 37th nationally according to 247Sports at the time of publishing.
