Indiana’s 2027 recruiting class continues to take shape. On Wednesday, Indiana secured the commitment of Washington D.C. running back Da’Jon Talley-Rhodes. Rivals has Talley-Rhodes ranked as a 4-star prospect and he chose IU over hot pursuit from Boston College, Virginia Tech and Penn State. Talley-Rhodes starred for the St. John’s College Cadets and he was ranked as the top prospect in the DC area. At 5’10” and a well-built 210 pounds, Talley-Rhodes perfectly fits the build that Curt Cignetti and position coach John Miller like in their running backs.

IU offered Talley-Rhodes in January of 2025 and Miller took an in-home visit in January of 2026 to let the prospect know he was valued by the national champs. That was followed up by Da’Jon Talley-Rhodes taking a campus visit in March and he took his official visit during the final weekend of May to seal the deal.

Da’Jon Talley-Rhodes is a fierce runner who doesn’t waste any time dancing around in the backfield. His highlight film shows that he is patient before making one decisive cut and hitting the hole hard. No one would describe him as a speed demon, but he’s plenty quick enough for his size and he appears to be extremely difficult for defenders to bring down, exhibiting that innate desire to always churn out extra yards by falling forward. Those traits make him a great fit for the IU offense and he has a bright future in Cream and Crimson.

Talley-Rhodes is IU’s 10th commit in this class, which is ranked 42nd at the time of publishing. His highlights can be found HERE
