Countdown to 2026 Indiana Football: 94 Days Kyler Garcia

Indiana

Indiana Football presented its defensive line as a core strength during the Spring Game, and with the season 94 days away, now is a good time to learn about Kyler Garcia, a defensive tackle who will attempt to crack into the rotation in his redshirt freshman season.

Height: 6’4”

Weight: 293 pounds

Hometown: Nashville, Indiana

Class/Position: Redshirt Freshman/ Defensive Tackle

The returning redshirt freshman from Pearl-Cohn High School will look to crack into the defensive rotation this season. Garcia saw playing time in one game last season against Indiana State, but this season will look to grab his first tackle and more.

Garcia was impressive in high school, leading Pearl-Cohn to their first 4A Tennessee state title since 1997. He also received all-city and all-conference honors in his time in high school.

Garcia’s high school tape is impressive: he was a dominant force in run defense and a pass-rushing threat, racking up 8 sacks in his senior season.

Garcia will have a tough job this season as Hoosier veterans Mario Landino and Tyrique Tucker sit in front of him on the depth chart. Look for Garcia to get playing time in the early games and blow-outs, where he can illustrate his talent. With enough playing time, Garcia can prove himself worthy to the coaching staff.
