The Indiana Hoosiers picked up their ninth commitment of the 2027 high school recruiting class in safety Brady Scott, a three-star prospect out of Reading, Massachusetts. Scott is listed by 247Sports as the fifth-best player in Massachusetts. He chose Indiana over Iowa and 16 other offers.
Scott took his official visit to Bloomington in late April and talked to Hoosier Huddle about his experience. “My relationships are probably the strongest with IU at this point. We talk all the time and I know I am a priority for them.” Scott said.
Scott did take an official to Louisville in late May and is scheduled to take an official visit to Iowa next week, but told Hoosier Huddle has was ready to make his decision.
“It just felt right for me. I was preparing to go on more (Official visits) and I just knew I wanted to play for Coach Cignetti , Coach Ola (Adams) and the staff that had recruited me the hardest. I just felt like I didn’t want to take up time with other programs or with my family because I had already been to many schools multiple times.”
Scott is a tremendous athlete who has also played lacrosse and run track. In his NSCA profile, Scott described himself as having “a relentless work ethic to be the best I can at football. I am an athlete and can play anywhere on the field, but have great instincts as a safety. My goal is to get a 4-year degree and play Division I football. I am a teammate who leads by example, as I expect the same effort from my teammates. I am vocal in a positive way and will push myself and others to be the best they can.”
Scott can play all over the secondary and that is what the IU coaching staff likes about him.
“(The staff) have talked to me a lot about my versatility. I can play in the box as a rover or as a weak or strong safety. They have told me since day one that being versatile in the secondary is a big asset.” Scott said.

Scott fits the mold of what IU wants in a safety and describes his game as both physical and mentally strong.
“I’d say I have a nose for the ball. I anticipate well and will come downfield hard and fast to make a play. I have played many skill positions since middle school, which has helped me a lot as a defender. I played receiver, have good hands, and know how to track the ball well, which has helped a lot as a DB.” Scott said when asked to describe his game.
He still has a senior year to play and many aspects of his game can be improved.
“I want to study more film and put myself in a position to make more plays without really thinking. Get faster and stronger in the offseason to be able to do this. I want to have fun with my teammates this last go around and help lead us to another undefeated season.” Scott said.
His HUDL Film can be seen here.
Scott is the ninth member of the Hoosiers’ 2027 class that currently sits 42nd nationally as of publishing.
