The 2027 recruiting class is beginning to take shape for the Indiana Hoosiers and they added their second wide receiver to the group as 6’2” prospect Jordan Carrasquillo pledged to Curt Cignetti’s program on Thursday afternoon. Carasquillo is a three-star commit from Alpharetta (GA) High School in Milton and he chose IU over Auburn, Kentucky, Maryland, Cincinnati and Boston College. Jordan Carasquillo is the second wide receiver commit in the past week, joining Brownsburg High School prospect Branden Sharpe in the class. Indiana is now up to seven commitments.
Carrasquillo is a receiver with good length and fantastic athleticism. In addition to football, he excelled as a lacrosse player and looks like a receiver that could offer versatility as he played in both the slot and on the outside as a vertical target for Alpharetta High School. The 6’2” rising senior visited IU in November as the Hoosiers handled Wisconsin and spoke to 247Sports’ Matt Weaver after the trip. He had glowing words for the IU offense so it comes as no shock that he decided to join the class.
“I think the thing that stood out to me was how Indiana moved the ball. The offense was booming,” Carrasquillo said. “They came out and tested the match-ups, made adjustments and then took a shot to Charlie Becker. I love the intensity of the team and how the coaching staff is pushing the team to a historic season.”
Carrasquillo led his Alpharetta squad with a whopping 586 yards on just 33 receptions with seven touchdowns. That’s an impressive 17.75 yards per reception and hints at strong big-play ability. The Hoosiers remain in pursuit of five-star receiver Monshun Sales but Carrasquillo and Sharpe are a good base for Mike Shanahan’s position.
