The recruiting momentum for the Indiana Hoosiers continued on Monday evening when Branden Sharpe, a three-star wide receiver out of Brownsburg, picked IU live on Rivals.com.

Sharpe is a three-sport athlete (football, basketball and track) and has helped lead Brownsburg to back-to-back Indiana State Championships.

Sharpe is scheduled to take his official visit to Indiana on the weekend of May 29th, but has been on campus multiple times already. He had 22 total offers, but his decision came down to Indiana, Cincinnati, Purdue and Vanderbilt.

What is Indiana Getting in Branden Sharpe?

An elite athlete with speed to burn, to put it simply.

In 2024 Sharpe was profiled on WishTV’s Athlete of the Week. Brownsburg head coach John Hart praised the then-sophomore wide receiver.

“I mean, there’s no doubt that he’s been special for a while. You can kind of see him coming up through the program. We’ve had a rich tradition over the last six, seven years of great wide receivers, and him and Aben are going to be right in that group.” Hart said.

Hart continued to talk about Sharpe’s evolution year to year.

“He’s become very detailed on his routes, I think, before he was just used to being open, and now he has to compete against people that are the same athletic level as him.” Hart said. “I don’t think anything is going to change his demeanor, the way he works at football and basketball, and track to work on his speed is unusual in today’s world.”

As a junior, Sharpe had a monster season for the Bulldogs as they claimed their second state title in a row. He scored 15 total touchdowns while making 59 catches for 1,43 yards. He totaled 1,386 yards on the season, which included a 99-yard kick return touchdown.
