
After a heartbreaking extra-inning loss on Wednesday night to Louisville, the Indiana Hoosiers (34-12, 12-6) went into Iowa City and took two of three against the Hawkeyes. After a rainout on Friday night, the Hoosiers swept a doubleheader on Saturday.
Game 1: Indiana 2 Iowa 1
• In the top of the second, Aly VanBrandt singled to the pitcher to bring home Brooke Mannon and put Indiana in the lead, 1-0.
• The Hoosiers used two-straight 1-2-3 innings with an Aubree Hooks strikeout to punctuate the end of the bottom of the second.
• Iowa tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth when Kiara Sipe homered to center field in the bottom of the fourth.
• With the bases loaded, Aly VanBrandt snagged a line drive out of the air to get the third out and keep the score at 1-1 through four.
• Indiana pulled back ahead in the top of the fifth on Ellie Goins’ sacrifice fly to right field which brought Jada Ellison home to bring the score to 2-1.
• Iowa got two on base in the bottom of the seventh, but Ellie Goins tracked the ball in center field to catch the final out and secure the win.
Game 2: Indiana 9 Iowa 7 F/10
• After a hitless first inning, Josie Bird started Indiana off in the second inning with a double to left center.
• Josie White singled to shortstop to bring Jada Ellison and Hannah Haberstroh home and put the Hoosiers up 2-0 in the top of the second.
• Iowa cut into the lead and make it 2-1 in the bottom of the second as Echo Matiello hit a sac fly to left and scored Mariah Myers.
• The Hawkeyes tied the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single from Nailyn Marshall to tie the game at 2-2.
• Iowa pulled ahead in the bottom of the sixth with a hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded before a bases-clearing triple and an RBI single to put the Hawkeyes up 7-2.
• Indiana got the bases loaded in the top of the seventh and started to cut into the lead with Hannah Haberstroh scoring on an error to make it 7-3. Josie Bird singled to left and score two more to cut the deficit down to 7-5. Madalyn Strader cleared the bases with a double to right center to make it 7-7.
• With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Indiana pulled off an extensive double play in a rundown to send the game to extra innings.
• The Hoosiers and Hawkeyes played two scoreless innings in the eighth and ninth to reach the 10th frame at 7-7.
• Indiana broke the tie with a Brooke Mannon RBI single to score Alli Gavin before Cassidy Kettleman singled to left to bring Ellie Goins home and make it 9-7.
Game 3: Iowa 4 Indiana 2
• Iowa used two doubles and two singles to put up three runs in the bottom of the first to take a 3-0 lead after one frame.
• The second and third innings were defined by defense as both teams put up a combined two hits and no runs.
• In the top of the fourth, Avery Parker crushed a ball over the center field wall to break the program’s career home run record with 46 homers and put the Hoosiers on the board, making the score 3-1.
• In the bottom of the fifth, Mariah Myers singled to right field to bring home Tory Bennett and extend Iowa’s lead to 4-1.
• The Hoosiers got two runners on in the top of the sixth but could not bring them home.
• Brooke Mannon went yard in the top of the seventh to cut the score down to 4-2.

Notables
• Parker’s home run was the 46th of her career and made her the program’s new home run leader. She broke Taylor Minnick’s record of 45 which she set in the NCAA Fayetteville Regional in May 2025.
• In five appearances in the circle this week, Aubree Hooks has only allowed five runs.
• Mannon’s home run today was her first as a Hoosier.
• The Hoosiers have won five of its six Big Ten series thus far in 2026.
