Turbo Richard saw his first legitimate touches last season for Boston College, and now will look to build upon that in his junior season for Indiana. Richard proved his name with big play-making ability in his 2025 campaign for Boston College, but now he will work to fit within Indiana’s system.
Richard transferred here largely because he could see himself fitting in with head coach Curt Cignetti’s culture. Richard wants to win and sees Indiana as the place to do so.
“I feel like it’s a great system and culture here at IU, being fast, physical, and relentless. It was kind of something I was looking for. I’m just grateful to be here.”
Richard praised Indiana for its fast, physical and relentless culture, which he is grateful to be a part of.
Last season, Indiana used a three-running back system, and this year, they will look to do the same again. This year, it will feature Khobie Martin, Lee Beebe Jr. and Richard.
“I feel like it having a rotational… save the guys’ legs not being burned out on the field… help each other push each other to get better, with all the brotherhood and just iron sharpens iron.”
Richard is bought in on the three-running back system, and praises how it can help out his stamina throughout games. The key to making the system work is an unselfish brotherhood, which is something that Richards claims has already been made. They make each other better, and will all have their time to shine in the spotlight this season.
Richard knows that to help out Indiana this season, he has to improve his physical game, but also his mental game.
“Continue to work on the details in my game. Build on top of that. Keep stacking days. Constantly stay in the film room and also, the field work, because you got to be smart in your head just as you are in your legs.”
Richard, much like most of the Indiana players under Cignetti, seems to be all in on improving himself so that the team can succeed. He is taking it one day at a time. Richards is going to be a great addition to this deep running back room, which will help out transfer quarterback Josh Hoover.
