The Indiana Hoosiers have picked up momentum in the transfer portal, and they added another backcourt piece with multiple years of eligibility as Duke transfer Darren Harris joined new teammate Jaeden Mustaf and committed on Monday.

Harris played AAU for Team Takeover and is close with IU assistant coach Kenny Johnson. The 6’6” guard was a part of Duke’s rotation this season, averaging 3.3 points per game and putting up a Box Score Plus/Minus of 2.8. Harris is a former four-star high school prospect who was a 40% three-point shooter on the prestigious EYBL circuit, and the Hoosiers will hope that increased playing time unlocks his offensive potential.

Harris has good size and strength and he knows what it takes to compete in big games against big-time opponents. He figures to slot into IU’s rotation and compete for a starting position.

Darren Harris took an official visit to Bloomington on Saturday and had one scheduled with Virginia early next week but he was convinced to join the Hoosiers and will not be taking any further trips.

He is the second commitment of this portal cycle and the Hoosiers now have 7 players on scholarship with 6 open spots remaining. Point guard Markus Burton and big man Aiden Sherrell are both on campus now for Indiana as Darian DeVries tries to build his roster for the 2026-2027 season.
