Coming off a historic 16-0 National Championship season, the Indiana Hoosiers find themselves in uncharted waters as the most talked-about team this offseason. Heading into Spring Ball, the spotlight will be firmly on the Hoosiers as they look to show that they can maintain their success. While fans will be talking about established stars like Charlie Becker and Isaiah Jones, there are several Hoosiers who could burst onto the scene in the 2026 season. Let’s take a look at a few.
- Tyler Morris, Redshirt Senior WR
Fans would be excused for overlooking Tyler Morris, as the Michigan transfer has yet to suit up for the Hoosiers after a knee injury sidelined him for all of last season. However, the senior wide receiver is a proven winner with the speed and talent to be a true home run hitter for the Hoosiers. Morris is no stranger to the spotlight; his 38-yard touchdown in the 2023 Rose Bowl helped the Wolverines beat Alabama on their way to a National Title. A true speedster, Morris could take over for Jonathan Brady as the Hoosiers’ punt returner.
- Lee Beebe Jr., Redshirt Senior RB
Another player who saw his first season with the Hoosiers end prematurely due to injury was Lee Beebee Jr. Beebe appeared in just three games for the Hoosiers before a season-ending knee injury earned him a medical redshirt. Before his injury, Beebe had impressed, racking up 209 yards (7.7 AVG) and a touchdown through just three games. After getting healthy and getting a chance to fully immerse himself in the Hoosiers scheme and culture, Beebe is poised for a breakout 2026 season.
- Daniel Ndukwe, Junior DL
One of the best stories of the Hoosiers’ postseason run was the emergence of sophomore Daniel Ndukwe. As Indiana’s defensive line continued to get decimated with injuries, the underclassman from Lithonia, Georgia, stepped up big. In his return to his hometown for the Peach Bowl, he put on his best performance to date, tallying two sacks, a forced fumble, four quarterback pressures, and a blocked punt. With a couple of starts under his belt, Ndukwe is ready to become a fixture on the Hoosiers’ defensive line.
- Kortez Rupert, Freshman WR
As it has been for the past two seasons, Indiana’s wide receiver room is an embarrassment of riches. The 2026 room looks to be no different, with Charlie Becker, Nick Marsh, and Tyler Morris leading the way. However, true freshman Kortez Rupert is a name to watch, as his raw athleticism and potential could allow him to break into the rotation. As a first-team All-State player in Illinois, Rupert caught 30 passes for 679 yards and 10 touchdowns during his senior season, helping lead the Flyers to a State Runner-Up finish. With his potential, don’t be surprised to see Rupert get some playing time next season.
- Blake Thiry, Redshirt Freshman TE
With the departure of Riley Nowakowski to the NFL Draft, the Hoosiers find themselves thin at the tight end position. One player who will have an opportunity to see the field early is redshirt freshman tight end Blake Thiry. A Wisconsin native, Thiry was a top-50 tight end prospect. A track star in his hometown of Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin, he has the athleticism to slot right into Nowakowski’s position as a hybrid TE/H-back. While he hasn’t had the chance to showcase his blocking abilities, if he can develop his blocking further in the spring, he has the opportunity to be a true weapon for the Hoosiers in 2026.
