Senior guard Lamar Wilkerson has been a bright spot for the Indiana Hoosiers in 2025-26 as he became one of the Big Ten’s best scores. With his 14th point tonight against Ohio State Wilkerson sets the IU record for points scored in Big Ten play in a single season.
Wilkerson’s 460 points in Big Ten games this season passes Don Schlundt who scored 459 in the 1952-53 season. Wilkerson entered Saturday’s game in third and passed both Schlundt and Jimmy Rayl (454 in 1961-62).
Wilkerson gives IU a chance to compete every night because of his ability to score the basketball.
“When you have a guy like (Lamar), especially when you get into some of the biggest games, you know, no matter who we line up against, he gives us a chance every night. On top of that when everybody else is playing well and he’s cooking like that, it can make us a really dangerous team even against some of the best teams in the country.” Indiana head coach Darian DeVries said after the Hoosiers’ win over Oregon in January.
