The Indiana Hoosiers (17-12, 8-10) wrap up the home portion of their regular season schedule on Wednesday night against the Minnesota Golden Gophers (14-15, 7-11). The Hoosiers entered the final three home games of the season with NCAA Tournament hopes, but with losses to Northwestern and Michigan State those are on life support as IU will celebrate its senior class after the game.

Indiana Desperately Needs a Win
The bubble for this year’s NCAA Tournament is so weak that Indiana still has a faint hope of making the tournament. The frustration levels in Bloomington are high as the Hoosiers squandered a 13-point lead to Northwestern and couldn’t hit the extra gear to beat Michigan State. IU has lost four in a row and five of their last seven games.
A win would not cure all of IU’s woes, but it would slow some of the negative momentum that has taken much, if not all, of the momentum from Darian DeVries first year as head coach. The Hoosiers finish the regular season on the road against the Ohio State Buckeyes who find themselves on the right side of the bubble after beating Purdue Sunday.

The First Minnesota Game was a Turning Point
The Hoosiers opened up Big Ten play in Minneapolis way back in December in a game that could be pointed for when the cracks in the foundation became visible. One game does not make a season, but it can be argued the feeling around IU changed in the Hoosiers 73-64 loss at The Barn.
With the Hoosiers looking to extend a lead to double digits, Tucker DeVries jumped a passing lane to steal the ball and go for what looked to be a soul crushing dunk. Instead he was chased down by a defended who blocked his attempted and Minnesota never looked back.
Indiana Needs to Hit Shots
Minnesota’s zone defense may be coming to Bloomington at the wrong time for IU. The Hoosiers struggled in the first matchup shooting just 40-percent from the field, 29.6-percent from three-point range and just 60-percent from the free throw line. The Hoosiers were also out-rebounded 40-25. IU struggled to hit shots in the second half against Northwestern and most of the game against Michigan State. If the Hoosiers can’t knock down open looks, they’ll be in toruble.
