IU enters the Elon-UNC Greensboro tournament with an 11-4 record. The Hoosiers will play five games in Elon, North Carolina with the final two against UNC Greensboro being broadcast on ESPN+.

Game 1 Indiana Hoosiers vs. Charleston Southern Buccaneers (Feb. 27th 12:30pm ET)

The Buccaneers come in at 3-14, but they do have a win over Notre Dame. CSU struggles at the plate with a team batting average of .234 and slugging percentage of .599. Blakely Kingsmore and Jordyn Dimond are the only Buccaneer regulars that are hitting over .300. Neither have a home run on the year and CSU has just four home runs on the season.
In the circle CSU struggles with command. As a staff they have 20 more walks than strike outs (76-56) and have 13 hit batters. Riley Lauffer (3-5) has started nine of the 11 games she appeared in.

• Charleston Southern opened the scoring in game one with a bloop single down the right field line that put the Buccaneers up 1-0.
• Indiana countered in the bottom of the first inning, scoring one to make it a 1-1 game on a sacrifice fly from Avery Parker to left field to score Aly VanBrandt.
• Aly VanBrandt broke the tie in the bottom of the second inning, hitting a 3-run bomb over the right center wall to put Indiana up 4-1.
• Avery Parker went yard in the bottom of the third, hitting the foul pole in left field and putting Indiana up 5-1
• In the bottom of the fourth, Jada Ellison scored from third base on a wild pitch to make it a 6-1 game.
• Alex Cooper tripled to start the bottom of the fifth inning before Avery Parker walked and Josie Bird hit a home run well beyond the center field wall to seal a 9-1 Indiana win in five innings over Charleston Southern.
Game 2 Indiana Hoosiers vs. Elon Phoenix (Feb. 27th 3:00pm ET)

The Phoenix come into the tournament at 3-11 with wins over Mount St. Mary’s and Dartmouth (2). They have also had three games canceled
At the plate Elon is hitting a paltry .237 with just seven home runs on the season. However, when they get on base they will pick their spots to steal a bag. The Phoenix has stolen 13 bases on 15 attempts.
In the circle Anna Dew is their best performer, although their main starter is Chana Wolfe who is 0-8. As a staff Elon has allowed 34 extra base hits and have thrown 13 wild pitches.

• Elon got out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI double to right center from Chloe Hatzopolous.
• Aly VanBrandt tied the game at 1-1 with a solo home run in the top of the third and then hit her second home run of the game and third of the day in the top of the fifth to put the score at 5-1.
• VanBrandt and Madalyn Strader doubled in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively, and brought a combined four runs in to make it a 9-1 game.
• The Hoosiers would go on to score 11 more runs in the top of the seventh. In that half inning, Alli Gavin hit two home runs to help accumulate the 11 runs.
Game 3 Indiana Hoosiers vs. Charleston Southern Buccaneers (Feb. 28th 10:00am ET)

• Indiana wasted no time against Charleston Southern to get runs on the board as Alex Cooper hit a home run over the right center field wall to jump to a 1-0 lead in the second at bat of the game.
• Alli Gavin hit a 2-run home run in the top of the second to make it 3-0 before Avery Parker hit an RBI single down the third base line and extend the lead to 4-0.
• Hannah Haberstroh hit a sac fly to center field to bring home Madalyn Strader and put the lead at 5-0.
• Jasmine Reyes continued to work through the innings with ease, as her and the Hoosier defense had back-to-back 1-2-3 innings in the second and third.
• The Hoosiers charted four runs in the top of the fourth thanks to home runs from Josie Bird and Gavin and RBIs from Strader and Drummond.
Game 4 Indiana Hoosiers vs. UNC Greensboro Spartans (Feb. 28th 3:00pm ET)

The co-hosting Spartans come in at 11-5, but have not played a Power 4 opponent this year. UNCG is the best hitting team IU will face this weekend with a team average of .312 and an OPS of .892. Nya South leads the Spartans with four home runs.
However, pitching is their strength. The Spartans have a team ERA of 2.05 and are led by Brookly Shroyer who has thrown 50.1 innings with 63 strikes to go against just 18 walks. Shroyer has a 1.53 ERA.

• In the game against UNC Greensboro, Indiana got its first run on the board when Aly VanBrandt hit a line drive off of first base to score Hannah Haberstroh and put the Hoosiers up 1-0.
• From there, a defensive battle ensued with no runs scored from either side until the sixth inning. In the bottom of the fourth, Taylor Hess threw two of her seven strikeouts.
• The Hoosiers charted six runs in the top of the sixth, including a grand slam from VanBrandt to make it a 7-0 game.
• In the top of the seventh, Indiana added on to the lead with RBI doubles from Gavin and Alex Cooper to push the lead to 11.
Game 5 Indiana Hoosiers vs. UNC Greensboro Spartans (Mar. 1st 11:00am ET)

The Hoosiers finished the tournament 5-0 moving their season record to 16-4 ahead of opening conference play Friday at home against Minnesota. IU outscored their opponents 59-3 over the five games in North Carolina.
Indiana used a six-run first inning to put the UNCG Spartans in a hole and tacked on two more with a Josie Bird two-run home run in the second. Madalyn Strader and Ellie Goins each knocked in a run in the fourth to make it 10-1.
Ella Troutt pitched four innings of one-run ball and Brooke Mannon picked up her fourth win of the year as she pitched a scoreless fifth inning.
