
The Indiana Hoosiers (14-11, 3-10) have put their brutal January behind them with their third conference win in a row. IU knocked off rival Purdue 74-59 behind a heroic effort from Shay Ciezki. The senior recorded a double-double with 29 points and 12 rebounds while also recording eight assists. IU split the season series with Purdue.
The Hoosiers raced out to an 11-0 lead as Ciezki hit two three pointers and Edessa Noyan added four points of her own. While the Hoosiers jumped out quickly, Purdue battled back to close the Hoosier lead to 15-12 at the end of the first quarter. Avery Gordon poured in four points to get the Boilermakers back in the game. Gordon finished the game with 17 points.
IU outscored Purdue 18-8 in the second quarter behind nine points from Ciezki and eight free throws as a team. IU led 33-20 at half time.
Indiana extended their lead coming out of the locker room, but Purdue did win the third quarter 24-21 as the Boilermakers used Gordon’s mismatch down low. Noyan ended up fouling out and ended the day with 12 points while Faith Wiseman picked up four fouls in just four minutes of play.
IU put Purdue away in the fourth quarter, winning the segment 20-15 with help from reserve Jerni Kiaku. Kiaku scored all six of her points in the final quarter and pull down three rebounds.
The Hoosiers controlled the game from the outset, leading for 39:06 and having the game tied just one time.
IU used a suffocating defense and an efficient offense to bury Purdue. The Hoosiers shot 25-51 from the floor and hit five three pointers while holding Purdue to just 23-69 (33.3%) from the floor. IU hit 19 of their 24 free throws while the Boilermakers were just 6-10.
The Hoosiers also got big performances from freshman Neveah Caffey who scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Lenee Beaumont added eight points, six rebounds and five assists.

Ciezki had her second double-double of the season, scoring 29 points with 12 rebounds, leading IU in points, rebounds, and assists.
Ciezki also scored 20 points or more for the 17th time this season and increased her double digit scoring streak to 34 games. She also pushes her IU career point total to 991 points scored in her two seasons with the program.
The Hoosiers won its 13th straight game in the series against Purdue on its home court at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
Noyan finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds, her first double-double of the season.
IU ended the night with a season high of 18 assists led by eight from Ciezki and five from Beaumont.
Its 47 rebounds were also a season high as Ciezki (12) and Noyan (10) finished as a pair of double figure rebounders in the same game for IU since November.
Caffey turned in a solid stat line with 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
