The Indiana Hoosiers have secured a commitment from 6’8” four-star prospect Trevor Manhertz, a sharp shooter from North Carolina's Christ School. The Indiana Hoosiers added another sharp-shooting wing as they secured the commitment of 6’8” four-star prospect Trevor Manhertz on Wednesday afternoon. Manhertz plays for the Christ School in North Carolina and he is returning to the 2026 class after earlier moving to the 2027 recruiting class and getting ranked as the number 63rd player in that group by 247Sports. Manhertz chose Indiana over fellow finalists Louisville and Duke.

The two primary things that immediately stand out when watching Manhertz play are his length and shooting ability. He’s a legitimate 6’8” and has been measured with a wingspan of 6’11”. His best offensive skill is undoubtedly his three-point shot and he has a high release point that makes it incredibly difficult to defend. Indiana assistant coach Rod Clark had a relationship with Manhertz and has been the primary recruiter and he has seen his stock rise in recent weeks due to his progression as a shooter, athlete and defender.

His length and fluid movement gives him good defensive versatility and he has had multiple recent games with five or more three-pointers made. While he is currently quite lanky and needs to add bulk to his frame to consistently compete in the Big Ten, his offensive repertoire includes a quick shot with the aforementioned high release as well as a pretty good handle that allows him to create his own shot against most defenders.

His commitment is a big deal for head coach Darian DeVries and he now joins a 2026 recruiting class that has three top 80 recruits including Manhertz, guard Prince Alexander-Moody and wing Vaughn Karvala. Add in 2027 elite sniper Chase Branham and the coaching staff is beginning to thoroughly address the need for more talent on the roster.
