Hobbs, listed at 5’11” and 198 pounds had offers from 18 total schools, but in the end he chose the Hoosiers when he announced at the Navy All-American Game Saturday afternoon.

247Sports’ Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins has this report listed on his profile:

-Versatile second-level defender with an impressive sonar that projects best as a box safety or nickel defender in college.
-Owns more of a compact build at this stage and is believed to be hovering somewhere around 6 feet, 205 pounds.
-Easy mover when flowing forward as he pilots his way through traffic and shifts gears to close gaps.
-Alert in zone coverage and has a good overall feel for route patterns. Can break on the football and make quarterbacks pay the price for bad decisions.
-Will thump in the open field and work to find leverage as a tackler.
-Displays good foot quickness, but needs to improve top speed as that will produce more range.
-Should be viewed at this juncture as a potential multi-year contributor and likely starter at the Power Four level that will offer plenty of alignment possibilities.

IU’s 2027 class already has four members and is ranked 15th nationally early in the cycle.
