Indiana fans should be very familiar with wide receiver Nick Marsh. The former Michigan State star has committed to Indiana with two years of eligibility remaining. Marsh had seven catches for 64 yards and a touchdown in the Spartans 38-13 loss to the Hoosiers this season and five catches for 78 yards and a touchdown against IU last season. Curt Cignetti and the IU staff has seen how special of a receiver he can be in person.
In his two seasons in East Lansing Marsh made 100 receptions for 1,311 yards and nine touchdowns while playing in 23 games. Marsh has great hands, speed and when he gets in space can make the defense miss. He forced 28 missed tackles this season per Pro Football Focus, second nationally.
247Sports’ Cooper Patenga had this scouting report for Marsh:
A true sophomore receiver, Marsh has already stacked 100 receptions for more than 1,300 yards in two seasons at Michigan State, showcasing the production profile of a high-end perimeter target. Hovering around 6-foot-3 and north of 200 pounds, he leans on a strong frame and dependable hands to consistently box out defenders at the catch point. A physical X receiver who thrives in traffic and wins through contact, the Detroit native is also difficult to bring down after the catch, showing a natural ability to run through tackles and finish plays. Projects as an immediate impact option with the versatility to operate as a true No. 1 or a high-end 1A at the Power Four level, while carrying early Day 2 NFL upside.
Marsh is the second portal commitment of the day for Indiana.
