Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti discussed IU’s injury situation heading into the Bucket Game against Purdue on Monday afternoon.
The Hoosiers limped into a bye week at 11-0 with injuries to starters Elijah Sarratt, Drew Evans and Mikail Kamara. Cignetti gave a quick update on each.
“We expect Kamara will start. Sarratt will start. Drew Evans, we’ll know more today, and him and the rest of them are working hard to get back on the field.” Cignetti said.
Sarratt left the Maryland game early with a hamstring injury and did not play in IU’s wins over Penn State and Wisconsin. He has 45 receptions, 609 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season.
It is unclear what Evans’ injury is, but he has not played since IU’s win over UCLA, missing the last three games. Evans came back this season after an Achilles injury ended his 2024 season in November. IU is undefeated when Evans plays and he has been very solid at the guard position.
Kamara has been dealing with a nagging injury all season and left the Wisconsin game early. On the year he has 21 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss and a sack.
