Hererra is a three-star recruit and committed to Indiana over the summer. He was previously committed to Iowa.
Right now, there is no indication that IU will take a high school quarterback this cycle. The Hoosiers are scheduled to bring back Alberto Mendoza, Jacob Bell, and Tyler Cherry as scholarship quarterbacks next year. Cherry’s status is unclear for 2026 however.
IU will look to the portal to add quarterback depth since going into spring practice with just three scholarship quarterbacks seems unwise.
