Reed Bailey

Reed Bailey comes to IU from Davidson where he was an All-A-10 performer in 2024-25. He  averaged 12.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 97 career games for the Wildcats and gives the Hoosiers a lengthy forward who can handle the ball like a guard.

“Reed is so versatile in what he can do and he’s so smart and moves and can play off the bounce. He’s got good athleticism and speed.” Indiana head coach Darian DeVries said. “It’s something we’re going to use and try to use as much as we can whenever those opportunities come.”

Bailey will not be the rim protector that IU fans were used to seeing on the floor the last few seasons, but he can shoot the three ball and be at the top of the defense, stopping dribble penetration.

Bailey will need to get tougher on the boards, but he does present a mismatch with his skill set and fits well into what DeVries wants to do on offense.

A fun stat from IUHoosiers.com is that Bailey is one of two players listed at 6’10 or taller (Johni Broome, Auburn) to record at least 600 points, 200 rebounds, and 100 assists during the 2024-25 season.

The Hoosiers open the season on November 5th against Alabama A&M at Assembly Hall at 8pm (BTN).
