Name: Trent Sisley

Height/Weight: 6’8”/225

Hometown/High School: Santa Claus, Indiana/ Montverde Academy

Class: Freshman

Position: Forward

Trent Sisley was a highly regarded recruit out of national power high school Montverde Academy, originally out of Santa Claus, Indiana. He holds the Heritage Hills High School career scoring (1,715) and rebounding (751) records despite only playing three seasons for the Patriots before transferring to Monteverde Academy.

Sisley may have gone under the radar, or had been lost in the shuffle of an entire new roster, but he has made his presence known to fans and people who cover the program early in the preseason.

“He’s continued to get better,” DeVries said of Sisley. “He’s coachable. I think he’s becoming more confident in what he’s doing and what we want him to do and intermixing that together.”

The freshman put up 23 points and eight rebounds in IU’s exhibition opening win over Marian last week. He played over 26 minutes coming off the bench.

Sisley does not play like a true freshman and while he has strides to make on the defensive side of the ball, Sisley can be a contributor this season.

“”He’s already made so many strides. He’s a big dude, and has gotten bigger and stronger since he’s been here.” Teammate Reed Bailey said. “He’s super skilled. You see the way he moves with the ball. You see his intelligence about the game. He knows how to play. It’s a lot of fun playing with him. I’m excited to see what happens for him throughout the season.”

Sisley can quickly become a fan favorite if he can keep up what he has been doing. It does not hurt that he has already endeared himself to the students with a bankshot from the roof of Five Guys during IU’s Hoosier Hoops on Kirkwood event.
